Sulzbacher Village: A Community for Women & Families

When you support Sulzbacher Village — a new community for women and families that will begin construction this fall —you will help build a separate neighborhood away from the downtown core, where women, families and children can live and access the services they need to put their lives back together.

Sulzbacher has dreamed of building this project for a long time. Why? More than two-thirds of the people we serve at Sulzbacher are women and children, reflecting a disturbing national trend: women and children have been the fastest-growing segment of the homeless population for the last several years.

For the first time, homeless women and families — including female veterans — will have a community of their own.

Sulzbacher Village will provide studio, 1-bedroom and two-bedroom permanent-housing units to single women, female veterans and single- and two-parent families, 70 units in all, accommodating 310 people. Approximately 30 additional units will accommodate women and families in need of short-term emergency housing and medical respite.

You can play a direct, tangible role in improving the lives of women, children and families by providing funds critical for housing, healthcare, behavioral health services, job training and life skills, children’s programming or exposure to arts and cultural resources.

Your donation, no matter how small or large, will help make this dream a reality for our families. You’ll help provide the hope they need to achieve small victories and great accomplishments.
